JAMES VADER

James Vader is a composer for film and media based in Sydney, Australia. He creates orchestral and electronic music with a key focus on driving narrative through orchestration. James has most recently completed compositions for the dramas Fear & Trembling (2023), Us (2023) and Solitarity (2022); action/fantasy Goliath (2022) and sci-fi Riley (2022).

James has worked with creative agencies crafting compositions for videos and television commercials for projects covering environmental and charity organisations, as well as global household brands. He has composed music for movie trailers and film production company logos and has also worked on the sound design for short films. Before working as a composer, James worked as a cinema projectionist in Sydney and Canberra.

Whilst living in Berlin, James worked as a musician as well as studying orchestration and film composition. Through recording his own music and performing it live, he was able to gain valuable experience in music production, sampling, mixing, sound engineering and design. Now based in Sydney, he has been composing for filmmakers and corporate clients since 2020.
